Mar 29, 2013 Comments (0)  | Tags: Beers, News, Collaborations

Brewed in honor of our friend Glen Hay Falconer, this year’s beer was brewed by the 2012 Glen Hay Falconer Foundation scholarship recipients, including Anthony Stone of Boundary Bay Brewing Company, Jeremiah Boone of Anchorage Brewing Company, and Scott Caul a Corvallis-area home brewer. We’ll be releasing the beer on May 4th, at the Sasquatch Brew Fest in Eugene!

For more on this project, check out this article from our friend Lana at Hopped Up Eugene.

Description
The Sasquatch Legacy Project, started by Walking Man Brewing and transitioned to Ninkasi Brewing, invites each year’s Glen Hay Falconer Scholarship recipients to come to our brewery and make a beer together. Proceeds from this beer will go to support the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation and the Northwest Legends Foundation, whose missions are to educate brewers and support the community in memory of our lost brewing friend, Glen Falconer. The 2012 scholarship recipients came together to create this year’s brew, including Anthony Stone of Boundary Bay Brewing Company, Jeremiah Boone of Anchorage Brewing Company, and Scott Caul a Corvallis-area home brewer. Using hop varietals preferred by Glen, we cheers this brew to his honor!

Tasting Notes
This is a Ninkasi take on a Baltic Porter, a style imported to Britain from the Baltic region in the 18th century. Historically brewed extra rich, malty and sweet, these beers were designed to ensure their flavors survived the voyage across the Baltic Sea. We brewed ours with Pilsner, Munich, Chocolate, Carafa, and roasted barley malts and added Chinook, Galena and Falconer's Flight hops. Cheers to the journey ahead!

Food Pairings
