Seattle Beer Week: Session Beer SessionMay 28, 2013 Comments (0)
When good people and good beer are brought together for a great cause (and not to mention some killer skating) - it truly makes us proud to be in the craft beer community.
Marginal Way Skatepark is known as Seattle's version of Portland's Burnside Park, where local skaters take over a piece of unused property and create a "DIY" skatepark - 100 percent built and funded by the skaters who use it. We are proud to have worked with Marginal Way for about a year now, helping out any way we can with the group's fundraising efforts.
This year, our Seattle Rep, Josh, decided to do something bigger in support of this great skate community. Teaming up with Fremont Brewing and Veltins, we came together for the first ever Session Beer Session - an event held during Seattle Beer Week as a way to raise additional funds for the skatepark. The event was complete with session beers and eats during a skate jam session open to the public to ride or watch. Through the event, we were able to raise just under $500 and were able to introduce some Seattle Beer Week people to Marginal Way and the positive community this project has created.
