Craft a business plan for your dream brewery and compete to win a weeklong paid internship at Ninkasi Brewing Company.

Oregon State is accepting enrollments for the Craft Brewery Startup Workshop, a five-day workshop hosted this September in Bend, Ore. that gives entrepreneurs the tools to design and implement a business plan for their own brewery and brewpub—and rewards the developer of the best plan with a paid internship at Ninkasi Brewing Company.

Through innovative sessions and networking activities, participants will learn how to recognize business opportunities, execute best practices for growing and marketing a brewery, incorporate environmental stewardship practices into the brewing process and explore elements of a successful craft brewery company culture.

Joined by Oregon State University-Cascades faculty, owners and key brewery staff from Ninkasi will lead several interactive and engaging sessions that will advance your understanding of brewing industry trends and local brewing opportunities.

After evaluating all developed business plans, course instructors will select the best plan and award the winning participant a weeklong paid internship at Ninkasi's brewery, along with Ninkasi merchandise and beer.

Developed by Professional and Noncredit Education at Oregon State University, the course runs Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13 at OSU-Cascades in Bend, Ore. Costing $1,175, the registration deadline is Aug. 26.

The Craft Brewery Startup Workshop is part of the Northwest Beer Sessions annual summer course offerings for brewers, members of the food and beverage industry, and entrepreneurs. Other courses include Sensory Analysis, Beer Proficiency and Brewing Analytics Course Series. Visit pne.oregonstate.edu/beer to learn more about these courses.
