Our first opportunity to host a community event, taking place just outside of some of our newest buildings is almost here! Because why wait to throw a great party for great people? Especially when the cause for celebration is such an incredible one.

The cause that we're talking about is the 12th annual Sasquatch Brew Fest, which will kickoff at noon on June 7th. Over 20 breweries will set up in our new parking lot so we can bring the festival back outside. Because great beer with great friends is best enjoyed in the great outdoors, right?

The Sasquatch Brew Fest is way more than a brew fest. It honors the legacy of Glen Falconer - known to his friends as Sasquatch. Glen was a Eugene brewer who had a major impact on the brewing industry in Eugene and the Northwest. He died tragically at the age of 40 thirteen years ago, and in his honor, our founding brewer Jamie teamed up with local brewers to begin the Sasquatch Brewers Festival in Eugene.

Glen’s family created the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation to use proceeds from the festival to send hopeful brewers to Brewing School. As a way to honor these recipients, the Sasquatch Legacy Project was born, giving the recipients the chance to collaborate and produce a brew in honor of Glen.

This week, Ninkasi's brew crew will host this year's group of scholarship recipients from around the country to brew this year's Sasquatch Legacy Project Beer, which will be a Session Dark Wheat IPA. Stay tuned for more details on this brew!

To make sure you're at the fest to taste this delicious beer as soon as it's tapped and to support this incredible cause, pen in June 7th! Over 20 breweries will be coming to the party and the fest will also feature live music (including the Cherry Poppin' Daddies!), food booths, a silent auction, raffle, beer dinner, and a home brew contest.
