Introducing: LUX!

May 20, 2014 Comments (6)  | Tags: Beers Introducing: LUX!

If you've had Ninkasi beer, you know that we love our hops. LOVE our hops. There are many, many occasions when we're craving the biggest and hoppiest of beers.

But you know what else we love? Lagers. LOVE lagers. Especially the ones that are brewed with high quality ingredients and offer traditional representations of the classic and absolutely delicious European lagers.

Which is why we decided to brew a lager series year-round and to do it by adhering to an artisanal approach for these styles of beer. Brewed with some of the purest water in the Continental United States from Oregon’s own McKenzie River, regionally-sourced hops and traditionally-grown German hops, each beer released under the Prismatic Lager Series remains true to traditional styles and achieves a brilliant balance only accessible by using the highest quality ingredients.

Our most recent lager to hit the Prismatic Series was Pravda, a Bohemian Pilsner that won a gold medal at the Great American Brew Festival last fall and seemed to be a big hit both at the brewery and with all of our friends across the west coast. But as much as we enjoyed sipping on some Pravda, it's time to let our next Prismatic lager flow, just in time for the warmer months.

Meet: Lux!

Lux is a Helles-Style lager, brewed in the traditional German-style, with a lightly-toasted, clean malt profile balanced by the addition of Noble German hops. It has a clean aroma with just a touch of grassy hops leading to a sweet, toasty malt flavor. It's bright, crisp, satisfying and ready to enliven any occasion.

Thanks to all of its high quality ingredients, it's ready, willing and able to help you have the highest quality of summers. This beer will pair well with outdoor fun, work in your garden, or alongside summery German favorites like brats and potato salad.

But don't take our word for it, grab a bottle or a pint and test it out for yourself!

Bonus: you can enter to win a sweet Ninkasi prize just by telling us all about your Lux experience by the end of the month!

One of my wife's true favorite beers, she thinks this stuff is delicious. Unfortunately, all your other beers have pushed Lux off our stores shelves and she can't find it now!! Boy is she pissed, she's gone back to Looser until she can find it again.

My boyfriend tried lux a few months back and we have not had any luck finding it in stores. It is our FAVORITE! Where can we purchase it? Is it only seasonal?

Hi Beth! Glad you enjoyed the beer. We tweaked the recipe slightly and now offer our Helles Lager as our year-round beer, Helles Belles. You should be able to track it down near you. Here's a link to our beer finder to help you out: Cheers!
