Perpetuating Better Living with Habitat for HumanityJul 16, 2015 Comments (0)
Habitat for Humanity does an amazing job Perpetuating Better Living in communities all across the map. We've had a blast partnering with them on several projects to build affordable homes in local communities through our Beer is Love program. The latest of which was a neighborhood revitilization project with the San Diego branch of Habitat for Humanity.
The six members of Team Ninkasi Southwest spent the day putting up fences, building flower boxes, laying down decomposed granite, painting and planting trees. We caught up with them after all of their hard work (and a little bit of play along the way) to find out more about the project.
What was the highlight of your day working with Habitat for Humanity?
Being together, period. It’s not often that we get to see each other, and this was a nice way to do something wonderful while still managing to recharge our Ninkasibot batteries from each other’s good energy.
Why do you love Habitat for Humanity?
They make a viable and visible impact on the communities they are a part of; they allow anyone to be a part of that impact without discrimination. We were a brewing team that worked side by side with youth groups, Americorp NCCC and construction professionals
If the day had a soundtrack, that song would be:
Michael Jackson- Man in the Mirror
Three words to describe Team Southwest:
Passionate, eclectic, a-damn-good-time.
Best beer for fueling a long day of working hard outside?
Has to be Wunderbier this time of year. Light, refreshing and so so satisfying.
And what cheers did you pair with that beer:
Cheers to living in a land where the best beer flows freely and people are able to come together during the work day to make a positive change.
We'll cheers to that!
