The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding research, finding cures and ensuring access to treatments for blood cancer patients. In the last sixty years, LLS has invested more than one billion dollars into developing cancer treatments that are saving thousands of lives. One of the most valuable ways LLS raises these critical funds is through an annual Light The Night® Walk. This year, LLS raised over $515,800 to help fund research to find blood cancer cures! We wanted to help them celebrate such a remarkable achievement, so we partnered with them through our Beer is Love donations program for their annual Light the Night Walk Awards party. They filled us in on their event and what Beer is Love means to them.

Tell us about the Light the Night Walk Awards Party!

With over $515,800 raised, we had a lot to party about. And having Ninkasi for the awards party helped keep our costs down so we could put more of the funds raised directly toward our mission: curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families.

Ninkasi beer donations also make our craft brew loving volunteers feel very happy and very appreciated.

What does Beer is Love mean to you?

It makes me proud to work with a brewery that believes giving back to its community is important. Helping others is LOVE, supporting cancer research is LOVE and appreciating hard-working volunteers is LOVE. Beer is Love is all about living better, healthier and happy lives. (Editor's note: we'll cheers to that!)

Music is an integral part of our brewery. In that spirit, what would be your theme song for your organization?

"Don’t Stop" by Fleetwood Mac. Our tagline is "Someday is Today." We are funding the most cutting-edge cancer therapies that are giving patients hope for tomorrow. Help is coming, not someday but today.
