Beer is Love Partner Spotlight: The Arc Lane CountyMar 08, 2016 Comments (0)
The Arc Lane County is a local nonprofit that supports individuals that experience developmental and/or intellectual disabilities by providing day services like community-inclusion and employment services to those that desire to work. Ninkasi donated some delicious brews through our Beer is Love program for their Business After Hours event. The Arc filled us in on the dinner and how the beer donation impacted their event.
Tell us about your event!
We recently hosted Business After Hours for the Springfield Chamber of Commerce here at The Arc Lane County. We had about 120 folks in attendance for dinner and Ninkasi beer. We gave a presentation about our organization and highlighted our newest program where we offer job coaching and training, and place those that desire to work in paying jobs throughout our community.
How did beer impact Business After Hours?
Ninkasi’s donation really helped drive the success of the event in boosting attendance. We had a good response to serving Ninkasi (naturally!) and it was greatly appreciated. I had several business owners and community partners come to me thanking me for the open bar, something that is not always typical at these events.
What does Beer is Love mean to you?
The Beer is Love program aligns so well with the programs and services we provide at The Arc Lane County because we too share the mission of, “Perpetuating Better Living” for those we serve. We strongly believe and advocate for the equality, dignity and success of the individuals that experience intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Everyone has the right to live their best life and have access to the same opportunities, and we live that mission and uphold those values each day.
Music is an integral part of our brewery. In that spirit, what would be your theme song for your organization?
My personal response for sure is, “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor, but when I posed this question to our entire team to see what they would come up with and they also said “Eye of the Tiger”!
