Help Kick-Start Swallowtail Spirits' Whiskey Project

Nov 07, 2016 Comments (1) Help Kick-Start Swallowtail Spirits Whiskey Project

For two years, local distiller Swallowtail spirits, has been crafting premium vodka and other spirits in Springfield, Oregon. Focused on local ingredients and community, owner Kevin Barrett has worked hard to make his dream a reality. Working with agencies like the Small Business Development Center at Lane Community College, the Neighborhood Economic Development Corporation (NEDCO) in Springfield, and the Regional Accelerator and Innovation Network (RAIN), Kevin's tale is now one of local startup success!

Two years in, he's looking to take Swallowtail to the next level, including the grand opening of his Springfield tasting room (the first for the city), and embarking on a Kickstarter campaign to purchase barrels and begin producing whiskey.

That's where you come in! Launched last week, Swallowtail's Kickstarter is aiming to raise $10K to enable the distiller to begin crafting whiskey. Each and every dollar raised will go towards purchasing barrels--the first step in establishing a whiskey program. After the public does their part, that's where we get to help out by donating our brewers mash to Kevin and his crew. The end result? Swallowtail can begin distilling and selling whiskey to you made with mash from a local brewer.

We're excited to see Swallowtail grow and hope you will help support them in this exciting endeavor. Check out the Swallowtail Kickstarter to learn more.
