Ninkasi Sponsors World Class Kayaker, Filmmaker and Artist, Rush Sturges

EUGENE, Ore.—July 28, 2015—Since 2006, Ninkasi Brewing Company has committed itself to quality ingredients and the support of local artists and musicians. When the opportunity to sponsor a world class kayaker who’s also an artist, filmmaker, and hip-hop performer presented itself the brewery naturally decided an official partnership was in order. Ninkasi is proud to announce sponsorship of Rush Sturges, an athlete and artist based in White Salmon, Wash.

From the pure, McKenzie River water used to brew high-quality craft beer, to the endless adventure and fun natural water provides, the brewery works to encourage water cleanliness, sustainability and enjoyment. Through this, Ninkasi sponsors numerous events in the kayaking arena, where its team was introduced to a kayaker who shares that same admiration and interest in environmental sustainability and art.  Now a world-class kayaker Rush Sturges operates his own production company, River Roots; and performs hip-hop under the name “The Adrenaline Rush.”

“I like to align myself with artists and people who have a passion for the outdoors,” explains Sturges. “Ninkasi is genuinely both; from supporting river conservation and non-profits to its in-house recording studio and Artist In Residence program, to the artistry in the beer itself.”

Starting this summer, Sturges and Ninkasi will work on a variety of projects together including video and photography content.

“We love what we do, Rush loves what he does, there’s a lot of mutual respect; we’re both always pushing to take it to the next level,” states Ridge. “Now we’re able to do that together and it’s going to be a lot of fun!”
